Robin making money, Marquette making it a game

ANAHEIM — Stanford’s Lawrence Hill cannot shoot. He launched a 3-pointer with side spin (brick) and floater in the lane with no spin (brick).
Brook Lopez just line-drived a shot off the back rim, but it was basically a pass to his brother, because Robin was right there to tip in the miss.
Marquette is staying in it through pure scrap, and with 10:15 left in the half, the Golden Eagles are actually in decent shape. The game is tied at 13, and Brook Lopez has two fouls.
Robin Lopez might be making himself some NBA money today. He’s showing a side to his game — offense — that we’ve seldom seen.
Stanford finally switched to man-to-man … for one possession. The Cardinal is limiting the Golden Eagles to outside shots with hardly any second-chance opportunities. My guess is that if they start hitting 3-pointers consistently, Stanford will go back to man.
The officials just warned both benches that they can’t stand up during the game. The crowd did not like that one bit.
With 6:40 left in the half, it’s tied, 18-18.
