Apparently, it has come to this:
Unable to agree on terms for a multiyear contract extension, the Angels and closer Francisco Rodriguez are prepared to go their separate ways after this season.
Quizzed by reporters Sunday, Rodriguez said 2008 “probably” will be his last year as an Angel.
GM Tony Reagins said: “There are scenarios that include Francisco, and there are scenarios that don’t include him.”
Tell us what you think, Angels fans:

KRod had enough blown saves last year - he seems to be on a downward spiral - let someone else have him.
Lets put it this way, a one run lead was a nail biter when he would come in. Time to say thanks for the memories and get someone else.
I agree…everytime Frankie came in last year is was an adventure and my heart can’t take it anymore. On a nightly basis, he’d walk the first 2 hitters, give up a hit then get lucky and get out of the jam. I can’t even remember seeing a 1-2-3 inning with him in ages. Besides, he has developed such a violent delivery the past 2 years I can’t see his arm holding out much longer anyway. Time to deal him when he has some value.
Let him yell…point to the sky…then pack his bags!
K-Rod is not the same pitcher he was a few years ago.Too many Walks,Wild pitches, and loss of command (Home Runs).Years ago, when Scioscia brought him in w/a 9th inning lead it was GAME OVER!!!….now!!!….I have to hold my breath and hope they win…..Let him walk!!!!….He is not worth what he is asking for…
He is not a reliable closer. His best role is as a set up man. The best thing for the Angels is to trade him for someone more reliable. He is the most erractic closer the Angels had.
Trade him while he is still a hot item. We have Shields and possibly Escobar to fill that void. That would allow Saunders to be the fifth starter and all would be well on the team.
Gone, c’ya, goodbye, don’t come calling. He’s been so wild lately that I think he is done as a solid closer for the Angels anyway. Trade him now and get someone with an open personality that the Angels fans can rally around.
